On 15th August, Joanne Malcolmson returned to Larne and her family roots to take part in the Larne Parkrun. It was made especially celebratory as she was first lady home in a great time of 24.31.
At Cuerden Valley, Karl Hodgson was second home in a new course PB of 19.03. Bernie Mitchell also improved his time, 25.25, keeping him on target on his ‘comeback’ to running. PB’s were also achieved by Liam Hooton ,25.51 and Pita Oates 32.17.
Three PB’s were registered at the Prudent Riverside Lancaster Half by Jamie England, 1.43.24, Alison Mercer 2.00.24 and Emily England 2.12.14.
The Fleetwood Half Marathon attracted 728 runners and all three Red Rose Runners had great runs. In 18th place and first V55 was Ken Addison in a time of 1.26.15, Andrew Christie 35th in 1.30.52 and Jill Jefferson 81st and first F55 in 1.40.45. At the Pilling 10k, Ray Taylor just missed out on first place in the V65 class with a time of 44.25 and Joan Gouldthorpe won the F60 prize in 53.18.
Ciaron Roddy produced an excellent time of 18.22 at the Preston Parkrun with Carole Williams (33.36) and Christine Barnes (34.31) also achieving PB’s. At Cuerden Park, PB’s were recorded by Michael Hogarth, 28.00, Jake Oates, 31.13 and Pita Oates, 31.47.
