A few Red Rose Runners were tempted by the Scorton Supper Run evening event. Lee Lawrenson was 8th overall in 32.53 with Lisa Bolton 19th in 36.45 and 5th lady. In 27th place was James Hughes in 38.03 followed by Mike Crowther in 29th in 39.04. Sandra Rolston finished in 46.29 slightly ahead of Andrea Davidson ( 46.56). Arthur Green had to be satisfied with second V70 in 51.19.

The Townley park 10k formed part of the Burnley and Pendle series and attracted 209 runners. In 5th place was Duncan Anderson in 36.03. Richard Hally ran a PB of 45.14 with Ben Smithers close behind in 46.02 and Andrew Stell in 46.55. Paula Stell ran well under the hour with a time of 56.02.

Sarah Chippendale ran brilliantly to be second at the Pendle Festival 5 mile.

The tough stuff this weekend was left to those venturing to the Scott Snowdonia Trail Marathon, needless to say, a gruelling and relentless course. Gary Corcoran ran superbly in finishing in 5.37.17 with Mary Conway taking on yet another formidable distance and coming home in 8.09.17 in spite of later finding out she had sustained a stress fracture for her efforts. Bernie Mitchell also continued his running journey, seeking out difficult courses completed well in 8.34.51.

John Naylor has started his task of 7 marathons in 7 days.
