The latest inter club race was hosted excellently by Preston Harriers. The 4.1 mile course involved a 2 lap course in the vicinity of Avenham Park . Our Mens’ and Ladies Open teams took 4th place in the seven team competition. In the F40 competition our team of Janine Needham, Ann Cleave, Alison Parkinson, Carolyn Douglass and Paula Plowman took 2nd place whilst the Men’s V40 team were third. The Crazy Cow 10 attracted 554 runners. Simon Croft won by a clear margin in a time of 33.36 with Phil Marsden taking 6th place in 35.58. Dave Parkinson took 2nd V50 in 10th place. In the Crazy Cow fun run Cameron Needham came 6th in 5.15 followed by Stephen Heap 5.58, Finley Needham 6.37, Lexi Colquhoun 6.49, Madison Needham 7.53,Hannah Barnes 8.06, Sam Edwards 8.50, Laura Orrell 9.05, Chloe Smith 10.43, Karen Smith 10.44, Gina Biggs 10.51.
The Settle Hills fell race was the latest race in the Red Rose Fell Championship and Interclub fell competition. It was a very tough 7.1m route but a fantastic route with very varied terrain, including a brutal grassy descent. The historic Freckleton Half Marathon attracted a good Red Rose presence. Jose Pinon Shaw was our only representative at the Fathers’ Day 10k but ran a great time of 39.23 for 4th place.
At the Preston Parkrun, David Eaves ran a PB of 22.55 and Claire Shaw improved her best with a time of 24.04.
