A good turnout form Red Rose at the Inskip Half Marathon saw Michael Oddie finish in great time of 1.28.09. Steve Murphy crossed the line just ahead of Ian Croft, their times being 1.39.44 and 1.40.04. Lynne Kenyon had a great run with a time of 1.48.04 followed by Helen Greenhalgh who broke her recent PB by 4 minutes to finish in 1.54.18.Two more runners broke the 2 hour barrier, Steve Worswick (1.56.38) and Alicia Croft (1.59.44). Jo Worswick ran 2.08.53, Reece Thomas, 2.11.26 and Ann Donoghue 2.11.37.
In the Four Villages Half Marathon, John Wiseman finished in 1.57.58 and Helen Ormerod- Pateman ran 2.13.40.
At The Cuerden Valley parkrun 40 Red Rose ran the event, with a large turnout of 233. Matt Holmes was home first in 19.10 followed by Dan Hughes in 19.25. Anneke Crosby was our first lady home in 28.58 Laura Renke was on her heels in 29.01 and Yvonne Johnson finished in 29.15. Full results on parkrun website.
Steve Bullows entered the Saxon Vikings and Normans half marathon event. Three half marathons in three days. Having successfully completed them he added to his mounting total of ‘halfs’ and continues to raise cash for Ronald McDonald House, always remembering Jacob and the other children who benefit from this great charity.
Lisa Bolton was our sole Red Rose runner at Carlisle 10k today, starting & finishing at race course, she finished in a good time of 47.24.
