Red Rose Road Runners have been on their travels this week. In the Radcliffe 3 Day Challenge John Shepherd and George Fletcher both completed all three races. In the Bull Hill Fell Race over 5:5 miles Shepherd took first V45. The second race was Giant’s Seat cross country, a four lap undulating course and the third a five mile track and trail race. Times for 3 races: J. Shepherd 1:58:57, G. Fletcher 2:46:50.

Arthur Green, Evelyn and Bernard Elkington tackled the hilly Endmoor 10k together and finished in 63 minutes. Evelyn took the Ladies V65 prize.

When the Hurst Green Trail Race wasn’t ankle deep in mud it was knee deep in puddles. Cliff Utting was 3rd Vet 55 in 38:33 with John Hyde running 40:59. Emma Cowie-Shaw ran competitively finishing in 53:23.

The latest Inter Club race was hosted by Wesham Runners at BNFL Salwick. Rainy conditions kept the runners cool and about 30 Red Rose turned out. John Shepherd was shadowed by Ken Addison in the early stages but a gap finally opened up with Shepherd getting away to finish in 26:49. Joe Swarbrick was next in 27:09 and Ken Addison in 27:35. Phil Butler ran well for 28:37 and Paul Woan achieved 29:22.

Alison John Haslam was comfortably first Red Rose lady and well up in her Vet category running 31:52. Julie Coupe was second in 33:44 and Debbie Kirkman third in 34:01.
