On Monday I did the fun run at Avenham Park. I knew lots of people there from parkrun which made me feel a lot more comfortable about being there. I started at the back which was a bad idea since otherwise I could have been a lot faster.

As the marshal blew his whistle I thought about what homework in maths my teacher had given me then started to do my 7 times tables. I do this because I like maths and it helps me keep a steady pace. There was a lot of red rose runners there and they cheered me on.

As I went round I kept doing sockets to pockets, this made me go a lot faster and I completed the race with a successful time of 6 minutes and 10 seconds. My position was twelfth and I really enjoyed it because I was familiar with the surroundings from my Junior training sessions. I’m now looking forward to the Worden race.
